Rural Doesn't Necessarily Mean No Access

What do you think of when you see the word "rural"? It's kind of an odd word. You mostly think living in the country, country life and country people right? When trying to explain what the word rural meant to my mom who was born and raised in Japan, I gave up trying to have her pronounce the word right after the third try.
