Via Satellite Magazine Names HughesNet’s Pradman Kaul Executive of the Year

Via Satellite Magazine has named Pradman Kaul, Chairman and CEO of HughesNet, “Satellite Executive of the Year” for 2008.

Among Kaul’s many accomplishments during 2008 was his role in launching SPACEWAY, HughesNet’s three broadband satellite system. The platform was conceptualized more than ten years ago, and it represents the largest advancement in the history of satellite communications. HughesNet reported a strong series of wins in both national and global markets, in addition to maintaining its leading market share in the VSAT market. The company’s high-speed satellite Internet service now provides service to more than 400,000 subscribers nationwide.

“Pradman Kaul has proven himself a visionary and entrepreneur in the satellite marketplace, a fact which is confirmed by his success in 2008,” stated editor of Via Satellite, Jason Bates. “Thanks to Kaul's leadership and the acumen of his experienced management team, we are looking forward to what will be accomplished by Hughes in 2009 and beyond.”

Kaul will be featured on the cover of Via Satellite Magazine in its “Satellite Executive of the Year” edition, to be published in March 2009. On March 26, Kaul will receive his award at the “Satellite Executive of the Year” luncheon to be held in his honor. The awards luncheon will take place during the SATELLITE 2009 Conference and Exhibition, which will take place March 24 through 27 in Washington D.C.
