HughesNet Backs Up Enterprises
HughesNet is at it again. Now HughesNet is offering a backup network solution for enterprises. This is a backup solution for primary networks, designed to use the satellite platform and accomplish 100 percent with HughesNet.
AVP of Marketing for Hughes India, K. Krishna, “Recent industry estimates by Gartner show that downtime caused by network vulnerabilities is likely to triple by 2009 for firms that don’t take proactive steps. While every organization today has some kind of backup in place for the network, most often both the primary and the backup have a common point of failure (CPE, last mile infrastructure etc.). It is, therefore, imperative for organizations to look a fully diverse backup option that can completely eliminate downtime and at an affordable cost (without mirroring the primary network costs). We feel that we are rightly positioned to address this need by using the satellite media that has the maximum reliability and reach. Our solution is unique in providing this in a very cost-effective manner.”
A regular failure point in the network is attended to with this backup solution from HughesNet. The backup will work for media and CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), so customers are covered on all ends.
A correspondent explained it thus, “Riding on the core benefits of a satellite network, this platform provides enterprises with a VPN grade service that is equivalent to a Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) VPN and can not only be deployed anywhere, anytime but is also known for its complete reliability and uptime. The service is configured and monitored from a HughesNet NOC, providing enterprises with a fully managed backup solution that steps in when an enterprise’s primary network fails. The solution hence protects enterprises from possible downtime, helping them maintain critical business continuity and meet stringent service-level agreements with improved performance and higher productivity.”
