Hughes Signs TBI as Master Sales Agent
Today the world leader in providing broadband satellite networks and services, HughesNet, announced that it signed Telecom Brokerage, Inc. (TBI) as an authorized Master Agent of HughesNet Business Solutions in the United States.
Since 1991, TBI has been a leading Master Agent for terrestrial telecom providers. TBI offers Internet access, local and long distance telephone, and managed services. HughesNet’s agreement with TBI will supplement existing offerings, allowing TBI and its agents to provide broadband satellite access to businesses beyond the limits of terrestrial connectivity from cable and DSL services.
“Becoming a HughesNet Master Agent has opened up a new revenue stream and market segment for TBI,” stated Geoff Shepstone, President of TBI. “With HughesNet Business Solutions we now are able to offer businesses broadband access for Internet and multi-site private networks in areas where terrestrial solutions are not an option or are too expensive, as well as a fully path diverse disaster back-up solution.”
HughesNet’s services are available nationwide, addressing the key needs of many companies functioning with inadequate terrestrial broadband, such as regions where T1 access is excessively overpriced, and cable and DSL services are unavailable. According to analysts, more than 3 million businesses nationwide are underserved. Many with terrestrial broadband connections do not have a legitimate contingency plan in the event that the landline connection fails. Inadequate Internet connections are not only frustrating, but they may lead to unhappy customers and lost revenue.
“To be successful in today's competitive marketplace, businesses need broadband, yet millions across the U.S. simply can't get terrestrial access,” stated Sam Baumel, Assistant Vice President for Channel Sales at Hughes. “We are excited that TBI has joined our prestigious list of channel partners to market HughesNet Business Solutions to this underserved market, providing a fast, reliable, always-on connection for Internet, private networks, or both.”
