Hughes Appoints John Cruickshank

Hughes Network Systems, parent company of HughesNet, named John Cruickshank the new Sales Director of the company’s European division, Hughes Europe. Cruickshank will oversee the operating and sales unit of Hughes Europe.

With respect to network integration services, Cruickshank has comprehensive senior sales management experience. Cruickshank devoted nine years to Equant, global data communications managed network services provider, becoming the company’s Sales Director. Following this position, he became a Network Integration Specialist, soon to take on the role of Vertical Sector Lead for the retail and commercial division at Cable & Wireless.

“My appointment at Hughes Europe comes at an exciting time in the company's development,” said Cruickshank. “As the world's leader in the provision of broadband satellite services, Hughes is well positioned to expand into new areas showing exciting growth potential, such as mesh satellite services and business access continuity service planning.”

In the future, Hughes Europe plans to expand its foundation of services, while improving the condition of integrated terrestrial and satellite networks. Rural Internet connectivity in up-and-coming markets, such as Eastern Europe, is a top priority. Hughes Europe serves diverse markets, with clients ranging from the petrochemical industry and to the lottery sector. Hughes Europe’s mission is to expand its services to other markets in need of large, global network infrastructures.
